About Anesthesia
The main purpose of anesthesia - the suppression of the body reactions to surgical intervention, especially the sensation of pain. This medical dream, which most often associated, and the notion of "anesthesia", is the only one (and, of course, mostly) component of anesthesia. When anesthesia (anesthesia does not provide, and carry out) is also important to the suppression or significant reduction in expression of autonomic (automatic) reactions of the organism in surgical trauma, manifested an increase in heart rate (tachycardia), increased blood pressure (hypertension) and other phenomena that can occur even when turned off consciousness. This suppression of autonomic responses is called anesthesia or analgesia. The third component of anesthesia - miorelaksatsiya or relaxation of muscles needed to ensure normal working conditions for surgeons.
Types of anesthesia:
inhalation;
parenteral (intravenous, intramuscular, rectal, etc.);
combined anesthesia (anesthesia achieved consistent use of various drugs and methods of their introduction).
Depending on what happens during anesthesia with the patient's breathing, distinguish anesthesia with spontaneous (independent) respiration with artificial ventilation and light (IVL). The second option usually requires tracheal intubation (in the respiratory tract introduces a special tube after the patient falls asleep) or other methods that provide an opportunity to inject air, oxygen or gas mixtures in the patient's lungs using a special apparatus IVL or bag.
