Monitoring anesthesia

Monitoring the condition of the patient in anesthesia is done by monitoring the pulse, blood pressure (measured manually or automatically, direct and indirect methods), the continuous recording of ECG, oxygen in the blood (by observing the color of skin and mucous membranes, through pulsoksimetra or analysis blood), the temperature of "core" and the body surface, the reaction of pupils, speed, diuresis, blood tests for gases, electrolyte composition and acid-base status.

Inhalation anesthesia maintain the desired level, special equipment (evaporators, dosimeters, infusomats), allowing fine-tune the concentration of liquid or gaseous drugs. As is the registration of various indicators of pressure in the circuit anesthesia apparatus. In modern anesthetic monitors a control concentration of gases (oxygen, nitrous oxide, carbon dioxide and a pair of anesthetic) in the inspired and exhaled gas mixture.
